The following resources were developed to support our livestreamed REEL Change Filmmaking Programs where guided by industry pros, you’ll put theory into practice and learn to create powerful content for socials and for cinema.
They can also be used as stand alone resources to help you craft your film for the REELise Film Festival competition. While you won’t have the same direct access to our Program presenters to ask questions, you can take advantage of our ASK AN EXPERT portal to seek further support and guidance.
You can also access our new online course for filmmaking that you can complete in your own time. You’ll be guided in all stages of film creation, undertake practical exercises and self-evaluations to hone your skills; and on completion of all course elements, be issued with the REELise Filmmaking Credential. CYBERBULLYING
Cyberbullying remains a significant problem with 1 in 4 young Australians affected. It can have devastating impacts on health and well-being and on academic performance for both perpetrator and target.
When it happens to you it’s important to protect yourself and reach out for support. As a parent, it’s important to recognise the warning signs your child might be involved. And for those of us seeing someone being victimised online, its vital we don’t escalate the problem by sharing harmful or embarrassing content and do what we can to support the target.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE CYBERBULLIED?
It’s important to understand how inescapable cyberbullying can feel. Our Virtual Reality Film was written, directed and performed by young people to provide an immersive experience to build empathy and guide positive upstanding behaviours. Please take a look and use it to guide a discussion about cyberbullying in your community. We have included discussion prompts below to assist, together with cyberbullying resources for students and parents. Check out what viewers of the film have had to say about it.
